The future of Imebra PDF Print E-mail

Imebra is the C++ open source Dicom Library from Puntoexe .

The library already supports the Dicom files, several image compression methods, transactions, unicode, and much more (see here a list of the available features).

But what is it going on right now? Which features are being implemented and will soon be available?

Right now the design of the network support is being completed.

Initially the network support will provide a set of multiplatform classes for TCP-IP communication and a multiplatform thread controller.

Later, the Dicom communication protocol will be available on the top of the network framework (e.g. association, command transmission, and so on).

The full Dicom network communication (e.g. queries, retrieve, store and other commands) should be available in the beginning of september.

The library will be released as usual under 2 licenses:

  • GPL2
  • Commercial. The new version of the library will be compatible with the current commercial license.

Subversion

A plan to release a public access to the Imebra's SVN server has been planned.

The public access to the SVN will allow to download the latest fixes and features without waiting for official releases.
