Imebra 0.0.28 has been released PDF Print E-mail

Imebra 0.0.28 has been released.

The new relase fixes several bugs and introduces some new features, like the load on demand.

The load on demand is transparent to the client application but introduces serious performance improvements when loading a dataset that contains several images or other large tags.

With the load on demand the larger tags are not loaded while the dataset is being parsed but only when the application wants to access to them. Unused tags are released and then loaded again from the original stream when needed.

The application can decide the minimum size of the tags that are loaded on demand or can disable the featue at all.

The version 0.0.28 introduces also the streamReader and the streamWriter classes that can control a stream object; a stream object can be controlled by several streamReaders or streamWriters.

The overall performances of the library have been improved.

Few severe bugs have also been resolved, along with other minor bugs.
The most severe bugs that have been fixed are:

  • a crash occurring when the library was reading a dicom stream containing an empty tag
  • a deadlock occurring while using the transactions
All the users are advised to upgrade to the newer version.
