The Dicom open source library Imebra version 0.0.40 has been released.
It replaces the recently released version 0.0.38 and 0.0.39, after few bugs in the jpeg codec have been found.
The new release fixes the following issues:
imebra: Imebra manual
Imebra 0.0.38 alpha has been released.
Imebra is an open source dicom library.
This release has been focused on bugs fixing on the dicom and jpeg codecs. The fixed bugs affected the creation of dicom file, not the reading capabilities.
The next version of Imebra (v. 0.0.37) will be released at the end of June 2008, while the first version of DicomXBridge will be released in the middle of July 2008.
Imebra has undergone a major lifting in the sections that generate the Dicom files, in order to achieve a greater conformance to the Dicom standard. The compatibility of Imebra with .Net has been postponed: the conformance to the dicom standard had an higher priority and had to be fixed before introducing new features.
DicomXBridge is still being tested. The delay of DicomXBridge is mainly due to the bugs that popped out in Imebra during the final phases of the tests (generation of Dicom files). Also the compatibility of DicomXBridge with .Net has been an issue and caused a major delay.
With most of the problems ironed out, Imebra and DicomXBridge are now being further tested and will be ready for the public between the end of June 2008 and the middle of July 2008.
